Happy Easter

We got professional pictures of Stella and Des taken last month and we are posting some of our favorite ones, although we loved them all. It's amazing the pictures turned out well considering that Desmond was very wary of the photographer and was crying most of the time.

Farmer's Market Revisited

Ommy came to visit us this past Thurs and will be here to spend Easter with us. We went to the Farmer's Market again today so that Ommy could experience it for herself. Plus, it had been raining since Ommy came to town, but today, the sun finally came out and we were so ready to get outside and enjoy the sun.

The Farmer's Market was very busy today...lots and lots of people, kids, babies, and dogs. We made out with some goodies, thanks to Ommy. We got a bouquet of mixed color tulips.

Stella and Des got magnets made out of pressed flowers encased in marble, some sticks of pussy willow, a dozen farm fresh eggs, some almond cookies and lemonade (which we ate on the spot), a lavender plant, and a rosemary plant.

Des was not as willing to hold our hands this time around and wanted to walk where ever he wanted to go, but we couldn't do that because of how crowded the town square was. But once we found some open space, we were able to let him roam free. Des immediately found this grate that seeped water as you stepped on it and he was in heaven stomping on it over and over again. Stella soon joined her little brother. Desmond's giggles were so genuine and contagious that people stopped by to watch and enjoy his enjoyment. The water puddles provided a lot of entertainment for Des and he in turn provided a lot of entertainment to others.

Once again, we had a lot of fun at the Farmer's Market.

Making Funny Faces

The kids think it is so funny to make funny faces...especially Desmond. As soon as he hears the word funny or face or any combination thereof, he will immediately put his fingers in his mouth and make this funny face.

Stellmo Is Here

Stella loves putting on her Elmo costume these days...the one we purchased for her two years ago for Halloween that she didn't like wearing back then. But now she loves to put it on and will even go for car rides wearing it, and Des just thinks it's a hoot when she's dressed as "Emmo".

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

Here is Des doing his best impersonation of a puppy dog. Those pouty lips are just so irresistible.

Farmer's Market

We went to the first Farmer's Market of the 2009 year today and the weather could not have been more perfect...in the 70s and breezy. The kids had a ball and we left with a tulip flower for Stella and a spearmint plant for Mama & Dada (to make yummy mojitos with).

Stella also got her hand painted. Out of all of the designs she could have picked, Stella just wanted a red heart painted on her hand. The lady painting her hand spiced it up by adding Stella's initials as well as some glitter to the heart.

The tulips and other gorgeous flowers in the town square were in full bloom and Des had a blast walking around looking at them and smelling them.

Then we came home, had some lunch, napped and went to the park in the afternoon. The kids had fun swinging, sliding, climbing in the playground, and playing in the sand pit.

After the park, we went to a yummy Japanese restaurant and had dinner al fresco.

What a full and fun day we had!

Bit By the Crafting Bug

Mama and Stella got bit by the crafting bug today. We made lady bugs out of rocks we found in our backyard. It was super easy and super fun. Stella loved painting the rocks and did a great job with it. Mama helped paint the heads black and draw the line down the middle, and then Stella finished by stamping on the black dots. She also was really excited about gluing on the wiggly eyes. The above picture shows our finished products.

Stella had a hard time waiting for the paint to dry...literally. The directions on the paint said to let the paint dry for an hour before applying a second coat and while the paint was drying, Stella would ask, "Is it dry yet?", every 10 minutes or so.

We are giving one to Dada to take to his office to use as a paper weight!

Des likes playing with the "bucks" as he calls them, but we have to watch him, because he tries to pry the eyes off.
