Sasha is Sleeping Through the Night
Sasha has been technically sleeping through the night since she was 2 months old from anywhere between 11-12 at night to 6 am in the morning. Somedays, she goes as long as 7 am. Today, she slept from 10:30 pm to 6:15 am. We will see what happens when she grows out of swaddling. She is the only one of my babies who has lasted in the swaddle this long. Maybe it's because we used the miracle blanket on Sasha which is guaranteed to prevent babies from getting out of the swaddle.

Stella's Science Fair
The science fair at Stella's school was held this evening. Stella was in the K-1st grade category and in the physical sciences sub-category. Stella got 38 out of 40 possible total points. She got points taken off because her poster didn't explain in words the methodology she used to carry out her experiment.
We used the small poster board as suggested by the guidelines we received and there was not much room on there to write down the methods, but every single participant, except for Stella, used the giant poster boards. Oh well, you live and learn. But other than that, Stella got rave reviews on her project from the judges. She was also very interested in walking around and learning about all of the other projects at the science fair.
Here she is proudly holding the certificate and award she received for her participation in the science fair.
We are so proud of you Stella!!!

Stella the Budding Scientist
There is a Science Fair coming up next week (Feb 22, 2011) at Stella's school and participation is voluntary, but of course, Dada, the scientist, would not pass up the opportunity to let Stella participate in it. So today was the day that they actually conducted their scientific experiment.
Stella's hypothesis is: Sour beverages are more acidic than non-sour ones.
In order to test this hypothesis, Stella had to taste and measure the pH (with the pH meter Dada brought home from his lab) of various beverages. After piano class this morning, Stella and Dada went to the grocery store and purchased a variety of beverages to test.
I am proud to say that Stella conducted every aspect of this science experiment, from tasting and measuring the pH of each beverage to writing all of her observations down, all by herself while her Dada observed and supervised. Next step will be to put all of this info down on a poster board so that the poster board can be presented at the science fair. Stella has been really excited about this whole process and that is great for us to see! What can I say, being a scientist runs in her family =:)

They then set up their drinks on the kitchen table.
First was the taste test. Stella would taste each drink and determine whether the drink tasted very sour, a little sour, or not sour at all.
Like a good scientist, she wrote her observations down on a notebook.
Next up was measuring the pH of each beverage and writing it down on her notebook.

Bathing Beauty
I just love babies before and after they have their baths. I guess I just love holding Sasha' warm, soft, squishy, naked body in my arms and snuggling her. In the pics above, I am holding Sasha before her bath and below are pics of her immediately after her bath tonight.
Sweet Monkeys
Some pictures of my sweet monkey just hanging out on the floor while checking out her big brother who was playing on the piano nearby.
Oh, how I would love to eat those pouty lips, but I'll settle for just kissing on them instead.
Here is a shot or my sweet boy who couldn't stand still long enough for me to get a non-blurry picture of him. Sasha and Des seem to have a lot of traits that are similar. If she ends up having his sweet, sweet personality, then I would just be over the moon!
And since I took a whole bunch of pictures, here's a collage of Sasha.

Valentine's Day 2011
Stella's class had a Valentine's Day party today during the last hour of school and I got to go to it while David watched Des and Sasha at home. We made a homemade Valentine's day card for Stella to hand out to her classmates.
First I had Stella take a picture with her right fist out in front of her. I then added some hearts and a message to the picture so that it looked like this.
Then I had these pictures printed out at Walmart and then we stuck a lollipop through Stella's fist to make the card look like Stella is holding out a lollipop like so. (I took the below picture of the card at night and thus the glare by Stella's face. So sorry about that.)
The card was a big big hit!!! All of the other moms loved it and asked me if it was okay for them to steal this idea for next year and I said "Sure! No problem at all!" since I myself got this idea from another blog.
Here are some pictures of Stella at school during the party eating snacks and playing fun games with her classmates.
At home, Stella and Des each got a gift bag filled with a few sweets and a book. Des was really excited about his big lollipops. I love the genuine look of excitement in his face in these pics below.
We ended the night with some homemade cupcakes. Yum yum!

An Early Valentine's Day
David got me this beautiful bouquet of fruit from Edible Arrangements for Valentine's Day. The place was so booked up for Valentine's Day (which is tomorrow) that they could only make this bouquet for pickup today. So we got a head start on the Valentine's Day festivities!
David took Stella and Des to pick up the arrangement so they were super excited to dig in to the bouquet when they got home. In fact, Stella and Des ate most of the bouquet even though it was a gift for me =:) lol!

Sittin' Pretty
With a little help from her Dada. This is what David likes to do these days with Sasha. Prop her up on her bottom and hold onto her arms to stabilize her while she looks around. Her neck muscles are getting stronger everyday.

Flower Power
We thought it was time for another photo shoot with our favorite 2 month old model and this time the accessory she was modeling was this cute crochet flower hat that I had purchased before she was born. Since I left David alone to put the hat on take pictures of Sasha while I was busy with the older two kids, I didn't realize that David had put the hat on incorrectly (the flower should be on the side not dead center) till later when I was going through the pictures on the camera. It's a good thing our young model is so fierce, because the pictures turned out cute nonetheless. Sasha was unfortunately not in a smiley mood because she was tired and ready to go down for a nap.
Warning: Picture Overload!
Some closeups...
